The CSULB’s Cybersecurity Ethical Hacking program course is built to teach relevant offensive cybersecurity methodologies and tools to veteran high-tech professionals. This experiential learning program provides students with the tools crucial to transition positions like Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity Forensics, and Penetration Testing.

The Ethical Hacking program curriculum is crafted to meet the demands of today's quickly growing job market. The main focus of the program is to teach students the most relevant skills that employers look for when they make hiring decisions.

Introductory Course

30 in-classHours

Students will start off with a hands-on introductory course based on Offensive Security and Ethical Hacking, and get an introduction to encryption. Students will also learn how to scan networks and prevent brute-force attacks by implementing IPS/IDS.

Advanced Infrastructure Attacks

30 in-classHours

This course focuses on advanced infrastructures and escalation. You will learn to bypass system permissions and protection systems to acquire user data. You will also learn how to use techniques such as Pass the Hash, Pass the Ticket, as well as the Metasploit and Veil frameworks.

Cross-Platform Elevation of Privileges

30 in-classHours

This course shows you how to be an OS administrator on a multitude of platforms, how to leverage scalability methods between users using different operating systems, and how to escalate privileges using local and remote exploits.

Python Programming for Security

20 in-classHours

Python is quickly gaining traction as today’s most popular programming language. This course teaches students how to apply Python to cybersecurity. You will also cover programming principles such as condition loops, inheritance, error handling, offensive Python, and how to hack using Python.

Web Application Penetration Testing

60 in-classHours

This course provides insight and encourages students to analyze the 10 most powerful cyber attacks in history. The goal of this course is to grant students a deep understanding of the approaches cyber criminals often take to hack systems. Additionally, you will learn how to use these web application penetration methods to execute client-side and server-side attacks.

Hacking Fundamentals & Exam Prep

This course offers the most essential hacking techniques formulated using questions from the international offensive Security qualification exams. After completing this course and studying infrastructures, human engineering techniques, and attack methods, students will be prepared to take the EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) exam and the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).

Recognized Certification Exams

Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)

The OSCP certification is the industry standard for offensive cybersecurity professionals. To become certified, candidates need to be able to exploit several different operating systems, in different situations. They must also demonstrate their ability to identify system vulnerabilities and unveil weak code in order.

The OSCP exam spans 24 hours and tests the individuals' ability to access an administrative role on unknown systems in realistic simulations. Candidates must successfully execute attacks against compromised systems and compose detailed Penetration Test reports on all identified vulnerabilities.

EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

The EC-Council's CEH exam is an elementary certification employers want to see on resumes to gauge the skills and qualifications of all offensive cybersecurity applicants.

The 4-hour exam assesses a candidate's ability to use the same tools, techniques, and methodologies as black-hat hackers to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a multitude of systems.

Program Tuition

The tuition for the Cybersecurity Ethical Hacking program is $12,000, in addition to the $1,000 for the Introductory Course.
